About Special Sessions

We are excited to announce the call for special session proposals for the upcoming ANZMAC 2025 Conference. We invite proposals for special sessions that will contribute to advancing marketing research and practice. Special sessions provide a platform for in-depth discussions on emerging topics, innovative research, and practical applications in marketing. Special session proposals should be different from regular track sessions, i.e., they should not involve the same format and topics of presentations that could be submitted to the regular conference tracks. Special sessions aim to:

  • Highlight emerging topics: special sessions provide a platform to explore new and emerging topics that may not yet be widely covered in the regular conference tracks, helping to bring attention to cutting-edge research and innovative ideas.

  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration: special sessions often encourage collaboration across different disciplines, bringing together researchers with diverse expertise to address complex marketing challenges from multiple perspectives.

  • Promote in-depth discussions: special sessions allow for more focused and in-depth discussions on specific themes or issues, leading to a deeper understanding of the topic and generating new insights and research questions.

  • Showcase innovative methodologies: special sessions provide an opportunity to present and discuss novel methods and approaches in marketing research, which can inspire other researchers to adopt and refine these techniques.

  • Engage practitioners and policymakers: special sessions can bridge the gap between academia and practice by involving industry practitioners and policymakers, helping to ensure that research is relevant and can be applied to real-world problems.

  • Encourage networking and collaboration: special sessions can bring together researchers with shared interests, facilitating networking and collaboration, which can lead to the formation of research partnerships and the development of collaborative projects.

To submit a special session proposal, please complete the proposal form by 30 June 2025 (11:59pm AEST). For any inquiries, don’t hesitate to contact Jun Yao and Joseph Chen (conference OC members for special sessions) at jun.yao@mq.edu.au or joseph.chen@mq.edu.au. We look forward to your innovative and thought-provoking proposals that will enrich the conference program and contribute to advancing marketing research and practice.
